Get Every Tooth Ready
Orthodontic treatments are most effective when all of a patient's adult teeth are fully erupted. Sometimes, a tooth may not fully emerge and remain partially covered by gum tissue, requiring an expose and bound procedure to gently guide the tooth to the dental arch.
As a specialized practice, Wise Decision is well-versed in expose and bond procedures. Leveraging 30 years of experiences oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Swift bring a better and stronger smile to every patient they see. If you need orthodontic treatment, but find that partially exposed teeth are standing in your way, let us take you one step closer to your best smile. Ready to schedule your consultation? Benefits of Expose & Bond
Expose & Bond Procedure
An expose and bond procedure exposes the impacted or partially erupted tooth. Typically, this process is done by removing the overlying gum tissues and is performed using local anesthesia.
After a tooth is exposed, your surgeon will affix an orthodontic bracket to the tooth's surface to serve as an attachment point for an orthodontic appliance, such as braces. This device will guide the tooth to its correct position in the dental arch.
Following the procedure, a patient can continue with orthodontic treatment as planned, and the exposed tooth is gradually shifted into proper alignment with surrounding teeth.
Types of Anesthesia
Depending on your procedure, you will receive one of the following forms of anesthesia to ensure your comfort.
