Dr. Kirby Johnson and Dr. James Q. Swift are both board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Dr. Johnson completed advanced training at the Mayo Clinic, and Dr. Swift served as Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Together, they bring more than seven decades of experience. Our facility meets Category 1 Anesthesia standards, and during IV sedation, a double board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist is on site. This is hospital-level safety in a private practice setting.

We believe expert care should be accessible. During your consultation, if we have not received your X-rays from your referring dentist, we can take them here for an additional fee. We accept over 15 major insurance carriers, including HealthPartners, UnitedHealthcare, and MetLife. For patients without insurance, we offer financing through CareCredit and Cherry. Before Your Procedure
At your consultation, we review your medical history, take any needed images, and discuss your treatment options. We explain the procedure and answer all your questions. If sedation is part of your plan, we provide clear instructions for eating and drinking beforehand.
Sedation and Anesthesia Options
We offer several sedation levels to keep you comfortable. Local anesthesia numbs the area. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) helps you relax. IV sedation allows you to sleep through the procedure while a dedicated anesthesia team monitors you closely. General anesthesia is also available for longer or more complex surgeries. Recovery and Follow-Up Care
After surgery, we give you written aftercare instructions and a recovery kit. You will receive a personal phone call from your surgeon that same evening to check on your progress. This is just one way we show you that your recovery matters to us. For most procedures, patients return to normal activities within a few days.
